Today, Kuthubiyath remains alive in traditional Sufi orders (e.g., Naqshbandi, Shadhili, Chishti) and in popular Islam across South Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East. Shrines of historical figures believed to be Qutbs—such as in Baghdad or Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer—continue to attract millions of devotees.

While its prevalence has decreased in some urban areas, Kuthubiyath continues to be a central part of annual festivals, such as the memorial for at the Kondotty Dargah. It is viewed today not only as a religious rite but also as a traditional performing art that reflects the unique cultural synthesis of Kerala’s Muslim history.
